Why take music lessons during the summer?
Honestly, why not! Outdoor concerts, buskers in the park, summer fairs, jamming out in the car on a road trip… it’s almost like summers were MADE for music. It’s a perfect time to introduce (or re-intruduce) music in any capacity. Here are a few reasons we fully support summer music lessons:
More time for music!
For students of all ages, summer is the perfect time to start music lessons. The break from school gives them plenty of time to focus on music and get the basics down. Learning a new instrument and improving over the summer will give your child a powerful sense of achievement.
Practice outdoors!
Learning music in the summer means you might be able to take your instrument outside. We’re inside most of the winter season, so it can feel nice to take your practicing outdoors! Practicing at a park, a beach, or a sunlit patio can be a fun and engaging experience.
Socialize with friends!
The summer is the perfect time to gather your child’s group of friends for customized music classes! Enjoy learning and playing with friends and have fun! Some of our greatest human experiences happen when we’re sharing music together :)
Avoid summer learning loss
Music lessons can help prevent summer learning loss by keeping students’ brains active. When kids learn to play an instrument, they're not only acquiring a new skill, they're also improving their memory retention, reading comprehension, math skills, and developing their emotional awareness.
And lastly… think about how cool it’ll feel for your child to come back to school with a new set of skills ;) They’ll also have learned more about practicing and self-starting along the way!
